Ashley Greene joins LOL Cast
|
LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) – Ashley Greene, who plays Alice Cullen in the “Twilight” movies, and “Hung” star Thomas Jane are in negotiations to join Miley Cyrus and Demi Moore in an English-language remake of a French comedy. “LOL” centers on a teenaged girl (Cyrus) who is dumped by her more sexually experienced boyfriend (George Finn) while her divorcee mother (Moore) struggles to move on with her life. Greene will play a high school bad girl, and Jane will be Cyrus’ father. Additionally Ashley Hinshaw (“Fringe”) will play Cyrus’ best friend, while Douglas Booth has already been cast as Cyrus’ love interest. Miley Cyrus In Line For ‘Dark’ Film Role

Miley Cyrus is taking another step to erase all memories of ‘Hannah Montana’ from our minds by starring in the paranormal thriller, ‘Wake’. According to reports, the 17-year-old is in talks to play a teenager who is transported into other people’s dreams and ends up in a living nightmare – about as far away from Disney as you can get. Miley sat down with MTV News on Friday and revealed she is oblivious to most of the recent criticism of her raunchy new image. “I try to think of really just the positive things. My family, we’re only allowed to have 10 channels basically at our house, because we don’t want to see any of that stuff,” she explained. “So the people that are around me, they bring me the good things, and I never see anything or read anything that’s bad.” Also on Friday, Miley treated hundreds of New York fans to a free performance with former Poison frontman Bret Michaels in Central Park. The pair performed a duet of his band’s hit ‘Every Rose Has Its Thorn’, a version of which appears on Miley’s new album. Michaels, who is on the comeback trail after suffering a brain haemorrhage in April, took time to praise the ‘Can’t Be Tamed’ singer. Douglas Booth Joins LOL Cast

British actor Douglas Booth has signed up to star with Miley Cyrus and Demi Moore in LOL: Laughing Out Loud.
Booth, who recently played Boy George in the BBC biopic Worried About The Boy, will play the romantic lead opposite Cyrus’s Lola character. LOL is based on the French movie helmed by Lisa Azuelos, who is returning to direct the Hollywood remake. Cyrus earlier told DS of the project: “It’s about this mum who’s going through a mid-life crisis of drugs and all this crazy stuff and she thinks that her daughter will never understand and look up to her anymore because of the choices she makes. “She then finds her daughter’s diary and realises that she’s doing worse than her and they go through this crisis together at different points of their life but realise how similar they are. With the “Sex and the City” movie just days away from debuting in theaters, “Hannah Montana” star Miley Cyrus’ small cameo in the film is getting as much talk as Carrie’s relationship with Mr. Big. In an interview with TV Guide, a number of the movie’s biggest stars talked about Miley’s behavior on set. Here’s what Sarah Jessica Parker had to say: “Miley Cyrus came in on time, young girl, professional, came in, did her stuff, and went on to another job afterwards.” Cynthia Nixon was a little bit more colorful in her description: “When there are people like Penelope Cruz and Liza Minnelli and Miley Cyrus — who you think are amazing — and they want to come play with you, that’s a real tribute.” What are you more excited for — the release of “Sex and the City” or Miley’s new album? Demi Moore on Miley Cyrus and “LOL”

The title of the flick might be “LOL,” but the thought of the pair onscreen together already has fans thinking “OMG!” “She plays my daughter,” Demi told us Friday (April 9) of the upcoming flick. “It’s a remake of a French film called ‘LOL,’ with the same French director [Lisa Azuelos]. She’s incredible.” Moore was promoting her new movie with actor David Duchovny to MTV. “Can I come visit you on set with my daughter?” asked Duchovny, who watches “Hannah Montana” with his 10-year-old, knowing he’d get immediate cred as a hip dad. “Yes, you can,” promised Moore, revealing that the film will shoot outside of Los Angeles. “But you will have to travel on location.” “She’s funny,” Duchovny added, revealing himself as an unlikely fan of the “Last Song” actress. “I watch it with my kids, and I’ll be like, ‘That girl is funny!’ ” “I’m really looking forward to it,” Moore said of the flick, which casts Miley as a teen who gets dumped by her boyfriend while her mother is simultaneously getting over her divorce, causing both to seek out new love while struggling to remain close to each other. Recently, Moore met with Miley, and she told us they hit it off and the film is full-speed ahead. “We’re just kind of getting going,” Moore said. “She’s great, and I think that she is incredibly grounded.” Moore also said she got to spend some time with Billy Ray Cyrus, who makes it a point to stay involved in his daughter’s career. “[Miley] is a true professional, and she truly has a wonderful family,” Moore said. “It really shows.” Posted On: April 13th, 2010 |
